Our next in the series of videos to highlight Neighbors helping Neighbors recognizes the dedication and service of our police officers.
The police team’s motto is “In Service of Others” and you can observe their commitment in their everyday service to the community.
The mission of the Blowing Rock Police Department is to work in partnership with our citizens to provide a safe and serene community while respecting the rights and dignity of all people.
The primary functions of the Police Department are the preservation of public peace and order, the prevention and detection of crime, the apprehension of offenders, and other responses to requests for assistance. The Police Department employees a staff of 11 full time sworn police officers and 1 civilian support services coordinator. The full time staff is supplemented by a seasonal parking enforcement officer and a number of part time-reserve sworn police officers.
You will hear from our chief and deputy as they describe the life of police service in Blowing Rock. It will make you proud of our unique hometown and the importance of recruiting and retaining our professional officers.
